Finals Week

12 Dec

Hi friends!

My semester was officially over as of Tuesday. I had 4 finals within two days, 3 of them being on Tuesday. And my grades are looking to be pretty decent this semester. I know they probably could have been better if it weren’t for my extreme laziness. Seriously, this probably has been the hardest semester for me to get through, not because of course content, but lack of motivation. Anyway I’m in CoMo for a few more days because they require my courtseying at HV. Poo.

I don’t really have much to blog about since I’ve mainly just had a lot of free time and not very many responsibilities to fulfill. But here are some highlights of what my first free days of break:

  • Tuesday I worked in the deli department! They had a huge catering order for the hospital. I basically made cocktail sandwiches for 6 hours. And I used the slicer to slice tomatoes. I love using the slicer. I also worked with the new manager. He told me if I ever need extra hours to let him know. Might have to take him up on that. I miss them in the deli.
  • Today I caught up on the newest episodes of New Girl, and also watched Into The Wild, and Harry Potter 8.
  • Today I also went shopping and spent too much money. But I got some good deals! That’s always important.
  • My backpack still smells like coffee because some basics decided to spill their coffee on the floor during my Physiology final, and I didn’t notice it and set my backpack right in it, thus soaking the bottom of my backpack and the bottom of all the contents inside. I was peeved.
  • I had TWO decent length conversations with our attractive neighbor this week in the hallway. I’m always good at being awkward and saying awkward things, which makes for awkward times. And of course, I was looking pretty nast nast both times. WAHHHH.
  • I spent an extensive amount of time researching the Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal relationship. Mainly because RED is one of my favorite songs right now, and there were speculations that it’s about the T+J relationship. Did you know that the RED album is mostly about that relationship? Fun fact.
  • Benedict Cumberbatch is out promoting the newest Hobbit installment. So I’ve also spent an extensive amount of time YouTubeing those videos. It’s the only logical thing to do. He’s so awesome.

That’s all for this week.

Peace out, girl scouts.

Dressed to the NINES

6 Nov

Taylor Swift’s new album has been on repeat in my dorm room and in Tori’s car since she bought it. It’s great, except sometimes I miss the old TSwift stuff with the country twang and the fiddle playing in the background.
It’s wintertime. I’ve had 3 nosebleeds in the past 4 days. These things are correlated. It’s like when old people have an ache in their elbow and that means a storm is coming. It’s the same thing.

School is kicking my but- I have lots of readings and online quizzes and papers and reflections and reactions to write and a couple more books to read then five finals to take ans then the semester is over. That is a lot of work. I’m getting tired even thinking about it. Gross. But there are only five weeks until fall semester of our sophomore year is over. Guys, we’ve been in college (or out of high school) for a year and a half. We are so old. Plus since I’m leaving my teens very soon (not as quickly as two of you) I am starting to realize this is moving too fast. There are so many things I want to do before I get too old-granted 20 is not ancient- but sooner or later I’m going to have to get a real job and not have summer breaks and winter breaks. AH! Maybe I’ll just become a teacher so I can have those things… eh.

Geography right now is my favorite class. I’m learning lots of interesting things about Myanmar! (sarcasm a lil bit right there). But it’s not all bad. Last Thursday was my favorite class, the projector broke before we had to take notes so my professor told us random stories about his kids and the crazy stuff they do. Then after 15 minutes of that we were dismissed. It was a good time.

My mind wanders when I write these things, but I hope you don’t mind. Let’s hang out soon? (Derek, you can G+ in or something)
Only 2 weeks until Thanksgiving break!

oh and VOTE! if you haven’t already! Here is a cartoon to help you vote! #Dion2012

T-Swift, Underwater Dogs, and A Baby Panda

25 Oct

On Saturday I ran/walked my first 5K. The only not so enjoyable part of that was having to wake up earlier than I have to for class. But other than that I ran more and finished faster than I was anticipating. It was a good experience that I can now cross off my bucket list.

This week I also had a Bio test. I was a little bit disappointed with the results because I thought I had studied everything there was to know. And I mean the score I got wasn’t necessarily bad, but it was frustrating because I went in and left feeling confident that I did well. Sucks man.

T-swifty’s new CD came out this week. It has been a rather enjoyable experience listening to it, like it usually is. However I will say that some of the pop-y-ier songs are a bit hard for me to listen to all the way through. But “22” and “Begin Again” are probably my favorites!

Have you guys seen the pictures of the Underwater Dogs? They’re hilarious. Hahaha!!

And also, here is a video of the baby panda at the San Diego Zoo. He’s so cute!! One day I am going to have a pet panda. And you all can come over and feed him bamboo. lol!

That’s all I got for this week!

End of the Semester Woes

13 Apr

I feel like posting late is going to become a regular thing with me. I blame it on the fact that there’s only a month left of classes and I’m sort of adapting the honey badger attitude on some issues. I’m just sooooo over this semester.

My break was pretty relaxing for the most part. I slept a lot, caught up on some TV shows, and worked quite a bit. And I got a new phone! A smart phone! Ohhh! Ahhhh! But other than that, I really didn’t do much.

I actually came back to school on Tuesday until late morning since my only class that day didn’t start until 12:25. Tuesday was also TOM’s one day without shoes. I partly participated in that. I was wearing shoes but I got peer pressured into taking them off. I was without shoes for about 4 hours max., I would say. Then that night there was also a small concert with Graham Colton. You should check out his stuff, it’s pretty sweet! Then I stayed up until like 4am studying for stupid anatomy (#storyofmyfreakinglife).  Pretty sure everyone bombed that quiz the next day. The quiz was over FOUR CHAPTERS and ONLY WORTH 10 POINTS. That’s how many chapters our LAST TEST WAS, which was worth 100 POINTS. UGH. Hate that class. That’s my rant for this post.

Yesterday I stayed up until about 3 writing a paper. So today since I was running on minimal sleep two days in a row, I napped for about 4ish hours after lunch. It was great.

Also this week, I found out that there’s not enough room in the complex for me to live in my sorority’s wing! Yes I am partially excited about this because I really didn’t want to live down there next year. Mainly because I just don’t want to be too sororitied-out, if you get what I’m saying. And also because it’s a bit more expensive live there.

Also if you haven’t seen Kendyl’s last post with the videos, I HIGHLY recommend it. More specifically the second video because 1) ZAC EFRON 2) TAYLOR SWIFT and 3) CATCHY SONG. I don’t even know why, but it gets 5 million hits on YouTube. I’m responsible for about a million of those. HAHAHA.

Zac Efron > everything

22 Feb

(Let me preface by saying that the correct title of this post is “Zac Efron > everything” but thanks to this weird ass font, this was not achieved.)

Hello everyone. Once again, it seems that I have survived the week all the way until Wednesday.

Not too much has been going on with me. Last weekend I went home, so that was pretty nice. You know how today is the beginning of Lent? And yesterday was “Fat Tuesday”… well let’s just say my family and I celebrated Fat Tuesday all weekend. And it was good. So good. Doritos, ice cream, Chinese buffet, chocolate Chex Mix, gummy bears, popcorn, cereal (and other deliciousness) were at my disposal, and I’ll also say that I consumed them in a way similar to a garbage disposal. But me and my mom decided to start Weight Watchers for Lent so we can go shopping for skinny clothes later on in the spring.

On Friday my mom got me an eye appointment to find out what was wrong and why I was having pain in my eye. The eye doctor flipped my eyelids inside out and said the problem was that I am having a severe allergic reaction to an unknown factor. Hmm, severe allergic reactions to unknown factors seem to be something I am very good at. Anyway, he said my eyelids were supposed to be smooth inside but instead they were bumpy because all the lymph nodes are swollen and that’s making them feel like sandpaper on my eyes. He made a video of my eyes somehow and I watched it and it was kind of gross. But he gave me some eye drops that really burn and I have to take them 4x a day for 45 days.

For my video class, I had another project that was due tomorrow, so I got Steven and asked him if he would help me by being a hipster again. He did not let the fact that we haven’t seen each other since graduation inhibit him. I edited it on Sunday when I got back to school and the only thing that sucks is that the wind is kind of loud for some of it, but it’s mostly alright. Then yesterday my teacher said the project wasn’t due until next Tuesday so oh well I guess.

Moritz and I are still trucking away at this whole college in America thing. He emailed Straub and asked him if he had any advice about getting recruited by a college to play soccer, and whether he thought he had a good chance of being able to play or not. Straub said yes and he even volunteered to contact the schools for him. It REALLY BLOWS because this week Moritz is at this tennis coaching seminar in Stuttgart, and he thought he would come home every day at the end (it’s about 30 min away) but when he showed up on the first day he found out he could just stay there the whole week. So he doesn’t have anything with him, like his homework or laptop or anything, and he only has 2 shirts. He said he’ll get by but I couldn’t do it. Gender differences I suppose. But anyway now he can’t work on any of his stuff he needs to finish. Yesterday I emailed all the schools he’s applying to, to ask them what materials they have received from him so far, and the ones we’ve heard back from haven’t received his TOEFL (Test Of English as a Foreign Language), which he took in December and should have sent like the ACT, automatically. And one didn’t receive his SAT which was also taken in December. Shit. So he can’t check his accounts until Friday. And they haven’t gotten his transcripts which his school secretary allegedly mailed about 2 weeks ago, and his dad mailed the bank statements about one week ago. So now I’m worried these are lost in the mail and they will never get there and apocalypse.

Sorry for rambling about that but I just have so many thoughts and it’s nice to have somewhere to say them.

Final order of business, I can’t believe that bitch Ben from the Bachelor got rid of Kacie B. As my mom said over the weekend, “He’s just a big stupid. He can never compare to how hot Zac Efron is. Never.”
