Running on fumes

3 Feb

I’ve been back in Colorado for almost 5 weeks, and it feels like I never left. When all six of us roommates got back together that first Sunday night before school started and sat downstairs, we laughed for hours, and it felt like winter break was just one long weekend. Leaving home kind of sucked. I only got to see you guys once! I wish we were still able to go on night-time adventures together… but Kansas is kind of in my way…

The past few weeks of school have been killer. I am taking 17 hours too, Megan! It is a lot of work. I’m taking two lab classes (BIO and Oceanography), Teaching with Writing, History of Colorado (which blows because everything really important in American history happened or started in Independence or MO in general.. my MO pride really comes out a lil too much in this class), Geometry, and an online technology course worth one credit which requires the course work of a 3-credit class. Mondays and Wednesdays, my classes don’t start until noon and I’m done by 3:30 so that’s nice. Tuesday and Thursday I have class 8-12pm and on Tuesdays I have Bio lab from 1-3.. so that really sucks. Also on those days I volunteer at the Boys & Girl’s club until 7 and on Thursday I go straight back to campus for Navigators until 9. So my days are pretty packed. Fridays are like heaven. I have one class 2:30-3:20 and volunteering at club from 4 until dinner or close, depending on my plans. Oh don’t let me forget Women’s ministry at church on Monday nights, Bible Study on Tuesday nights, and babysitting on Wednesday nights. Saturdays are my only days off. I’m pretty optimistic about this semester so far; here’s to hoping that optimism stays for 13 more weeks.

Over break, which now seems like forever ago, I got exciting news! I was offered the job of On Location Camp Counselor at Eagle Lake camp in Colorado Springs!!! I am so so so very excited to spend my summer serving at a camp again, and even more excited that it’s in Colorado (and the surrounding area). My specific job will consist of traveling around Colorado or the northern Midwest area and doing camp at different churches each week. This is the stuff I want to be doing for the rest of my life, so being able to start that now is beyond a blessing. My whole summer is already planned out, and what a relief. I can’t imagine trying to deal with the stress of making summer plans while taking 17 credits. Good luck to you guys with finding internships and jobs!

Outdoor soccer starts the 18th of February and I cannot wait! I went to the gym Friday to play volleyball with my roommate and we ended up playing for almost 2 hours. Oh my gosh I am so sore. Muscles that I never thought I had are hurting me. I don’t like it. VB is hard and hurts your arms so much. My palms are bruised, and I don’t know how that happened. Bleh. I’m so ready to get back out on the soccer field.

Happy birthday week to you Kendyl!! All of the world will be celebrating with you!

Sophisticating my Palate.

30 Oct

I am currently eating my favorite chocolate cake ice cream, drinking coke zero and watching Gilmore Girls. Today was my day off so I studied quite a bit, but I still feel like I didn’t get very much done. I have two tests next week so I have some work to do!

Sunday was my last day working at Lake Jacomo Marina… probably ever. It was a little bittersweet because while sometimes I hated it most of the time it was actually pretty alright and working with Megan and Derek for two summers was pretty cool 🙂

This Friday I worked from 12-5pm and had an indoor soccer game which we lost 13-0. After that I went over to the house Gentry and I were dog/house sitting at (Bailey’s house btw that’s the dogs name). I have a real talent for making myself at home at other peoples houses. Then Saturday I worked from 9-5pm and that night we went over to Meguan’s house to plan for our London trip and watched SNL because that is now a 5-week tradition. It seems the only thing we have actually accomplished is booking a hostel in London. Then Sunday I worked from 7-3pm and at 5pm I went over to my Grandma’s house. I like Sunday evenings because my whole family gets together and we have dinner at my Grandma’s house. This week I ate brussel sprouts in an attempt to sophisticate my palate haha.

This weekend I plan on coming home Friday to play in two indoor soccer games and then drive back Saturday so I can go to the Mizzou football game!

Keep it Classy.

P.S. It was a real struggle making myself write this post due to my laziness.

P.P.S. The Olympic countdown is also my birthday countdown! Yay! 100 days!

Interview and Stuff.

19 Sep

Hey friends!

Thursday night/Friday in general was just a horribly stressful day(s). I had stayed up all night studying for my Physiology test. I took the test at 8am on Friday and was pretty confident I missed more than half of the questions (thankfully that wasn’t so). On Friday as well, I had my nursing interview.

I didn’t get a chance to nap after my test because well, I forgot that I needed to wear pantyhose since I was wearing a skirt to my interview, so I had to go shopping. I hate pantyhose. Anyway I got pantyhose, then came back home, practiced some of the things I was planning on saying so I’d be prepared, and then I had to get ready.

I got to the Nursing building about 15 minutes ahead of time and waited in the waiting room along with about 8 or so other girls. Frankenweenie was playing on the projector but I couldn’t pay attention to the movie for very long because I was so nervous, but there was pretty much constant activity of people coming back in from their interview or leaving for their interview, so that made it hard to focus, too. Then they called my name.

Once I sat down in the interview room, I could feel the adrenaline pumping through my veins and my heart beating out of my chest, not to mention sweaty palms. Yikes. But overall I think the interview went pretty well, especially after the first few minutes, and it was less intimidating than I thought it was going to be. I think it’s because I knew what I was going to say and how I was going to say it, and I knew what I wanted and why I wanted it. But I guess that’s from my own perspective, so we’ll have to see in a few weeks how everything turned out. *fingers crossed*

After the interview I drove back HOME-home and took a nap before I went to watch Kens and Derk’s indoor soccer game at SportsCity. Their team won!

I forgot to mention in my post last week that I had an encounter with Anthony! Some of you already knew this, but for those that didn’t, me and Kens had to drop something off at Derek’s before we left for CoMo on Sunday night. I took the back roads out which takes you out past BYB. As we drove by we saw his “bra-car” and we freaked out together and decided to drive by the drive-through window to see if he was working. He was. Long story short, we left to get gas, I was regretting not stopping to say something, we turned back around, went through the drive through, got waffle fries, and asked the cashier at the window if we could talk to Anthony. LOL. He came to the window and that conversation lasted a good 5 minutes or so. YOLO.

Peace out, girl scouts!

PS. 64 days until LONDON!! And ONE WEEK AND ONE DAY UNTIL BUZZ BEACHBALL!! AHHHHHHHHH!

Classy like Chrisman

28 Nov

I agree with Kendyl, Thanksgiving break was awesome and definitely too short. After eating way too much food for about 5 days straight, I’ve now resumed the standard position of Starving College Student.

One of my favorite parts about Thanksgiving break was that we put up the Christmas tree on Friday night and decorated it on Saturday. We never used to do it this early, but the rule was always that it had to be up before my birthday (December 14th), but last year since I wouldn’t be home from college until after the 14th, we did it at Thanksgiving, so the tradition continues. Another one of my favorite parts of the break was when our next-door neighbor Don (the mayor) called and said he had 6 tickets for the Missouri Comets (pro indoor soccer) game that night, and did we want them? We definitely wanted them! I guess I should mention that the other 4/5 of my family have been to 2 Comets games in the past year, also free tickets from the mayor. I am so happy I got to go this time! I asked if I could invite Nick since there were only 5 of us and so Nick went with us too.

The best part of the Comets game was that we got to sit in one of the Box Suites! There was free popcorn, pretzels, and pop and it was so splendid. I had never been in this arena in the Independence Events Center before, so when we were walking through a hallway to our suite, I asked “Where do all the peasants sit?” This was funny because for some reason “Peasant” was a word that Becky kept using to describe us (me and her) because we don’t have Instagram and have DumbPhones. (AKA no Internet). But anyway, I was seriously feeling like high-class royalty during the game.

Then I had to come back to school blahblah. I am trying not to “let the man get me down” by remembering that in 2 weeks from today I will be out of here! Just keep swimming, just keep swimming! (Dory voice) Also, 24 days until Germany! Where are you guys doing over Christmas break? I leave December 21st but I am free from the 11th until then! When are you going to SUOMI Kendyl??

Also, the drama with Chrisman right now is so horrible but in a strange way I’m gonna just say this: It’s probably the first day ever ever that I kind of wish I still went to school at that wretched place. Because I bet that was a really funny and interesting environment to be in today, and also I really enjoy intense awkward social situations. S/O to T-Laugh if you’re reading this, you should totally comment and tell me how the day was.

I think I am going to make cookies tonight. #YOLO

The negatives of sports

18 Nov

The lift operations department here at the resort has a few shifts that start at 5am, Last week I worked one of these shifts meaning I had to report to the Lift Ops locker room by 5am dressed and ready to work. I woke up at 4:30 probably setting the record for the earliest I have ever woken up for anything. After reporting on time to the locker room me and the 6 other people working the 5am shift walked out to the base of the mountain where we buckled into are snowboards/skis and hopped on the main chair lift heading up the mountain. I then looked up at the sky and saw more stars at once then I have ever seen my entire life, I felt completed surrounded by stars from being so high up the mountain, when I looked behind me away from the mountain the stars seemed to be almost at eye level. After the mile long ride I got off my chair and snowboarded the half mile or so to the bottom of the lift I was working for the day in complete darkness surrounded by stars and trees. After shoveling some snow at the bottom I rode a chair to my first station at the top lift shack one of the highest points on the mountain as the sun was rising. I worked a really long day 5am to 5pm but between the night sky, watching the sunrise, the awesome weather, and getting to snowboard on my lunch break it was probably my favorite day of work for any job I have ever had. Also you can’t beat getting to snowboarding to and from work.

I don’t know if it’s the cold weather, the altitude, or just that I snowboard everyday but most mornings when I wake up it seems like almost every part of my body I have ever injured is incredibly sore. My right knee is the worst it’s only been 4 months since my acl/meniscus surgery but most mornings it takes a few hours before I can even bend it more than 20 degrees or walk without a limp. My ankles aren’t much better, throughout the 12 years I played soccer I probably sprained each of them at least 5 times and usually after a day of snowboarding my ankles feel like they are on fire.

I can barely hold a pen or pencil with my right hand after surgery on my arm I broke 6 years ago playing soccer, and then hand surgery again after shattering the bone in the palm of my hand and around my thumb mountain biking last December also when it gets cold enough my arm and hand just generally ache in pain.

Last winter was my most painful injury. I caught an edge while snowboarding off a jump at a ski area in Missouri and dropped about 8 feet onto mostly solid ice landing on my back with my feet still in the air I also smacked my head on the ice. My first thought after falling on my back was “oh shit oh shit I hope I didn’t break my back” followed by “shit I might have a concussion”. But after rolling around in pain for a few minutes I ended up standing up on my own while still in extreme pain and hiking down the hill to my car where I sat for an hour before the pain resided enough for me to drive home. I had a horrible headache and a huge black bruise on my back the next day and I still have back pain every now and then from that fall if I stand up for extended periods of time.

I have never been diagnosed with a concussion but that’s probably because I have never gone to the doctor for a head injury. I have hit my head several times the worst last year when I was in college. While playing club soccer I ran full speed for a header and ended up getting knocked to the ground out cold after colliding with an Austrian on the team who was twice my size. After waking up I rolled around on the ground for a few seconds until I stopped seeing black, then I got up and kept playing with the worst headache and whiplash I have ever had.

I really want to get into surfing, climbing, and long boarding this summer because I think they would be a little easier on my body.

Star Wars

23 Oct

Crazy times have I been having. (I think this is something Yoda would say, but I’ve never seen Star Wars and don’t even know if it’s 2 words or not. The only time I attempted to watch the movie was Freshman year on the way to Disney with the band. Rees was going to explain the whole thing to me, but fell asleep, so I did too.)

I have fallen behind on a lot of things this semester and it’s just now hitting me. I haven’t written as many letters to you guys or anyone and that kind of makes me sad. Letters are so special to me- even if they are simple and silly they are important. So, I apologize for that. I also have been slacking on keeping you all updated with this blog. I forgot my day for a little bit. But no excuses! And of course I’m sucking it up at school work. I think that it’s one of many of our running themes. It’s past midterm season and I have learned close to nothing.

Anywho: Tonight was my first game of the year for intramural indoor soccer. Best league ever. My team has 4 good players, which is 2 more than last year. We only lost by 11, and we got to play until there was less than 30 seconds left in the game- so that’s a plus!

My weekend was spent in Estes Park, the most beautiful place in the world during the fall. I went up there for the Journey conference that the Navigators put on every year. All the Navigators from the Rocky Mountain region get together for this one weekend every year. Groups from New Mexico all the way up Wyoming come to Estes for this conference. It was such a great thing to be in a place with like 600 college students who all love and serve God. Worship was crazy great. I just want to be back there again.

26 days until Thanksgiving break yo

I’m really hooked on the TV show Smash. Musicals are my favorite and there was an episode with Nick Jonas. It’s full of greatness.

That’s all- Morgan

Sickness

27 Sep

Hey everyone!

So Friday we went to the girls soccer game. Besides missing out on the free shirts it was really exciting! Afterwards we went to Mizzou After Dark and we crafted it up and got some free Jimmy Johns, which was good because we were both pretty hungry after the game. Here’s my very first crayon canvas that I made there…

The line for that craft was HELLA long. But I’m happy with the way it turned out for the most part. I was expecting it to be worse. We also made ModgePodge coasters. Overall, it was a pretty good night.

Anyway, at the soccer game, I started to notice that I had a tickle in my throat. And all that day, my nose had been runny. The runny nose I didn’t think much of because I normally have allergies, but the tickle PLUS a runny nose…!! I was definitely catching something. So Saturday night we went to Wally World (where Kens had her encounter with “women problems”) to get some NyQuill and DayQuill (except I got the WalMart brand because I’m living on a college kid budget and still don’t have a job). The first few days of being sick, I for sure felt like complete crap. No joke. But I’m mostly better as of today, except for some stuffy nose issues. But suffice it to say, I definitely slept a lot this week, used a whole bunch of tissues, ate quite a bit of soup, watched a lot of the premier episodes of a lot of shows on my laptop (some of those shows being Breaking Amish, Dancing with the Stars, Parks and Rec, The Office, Glee, Go On, etc.. I might have a TV show addiction… Possibly), and procrastinated doing my homework/studying more than I usually do. I’m blaming it on the sickness.

Today me and Kens went to B-Dubs for Boneless Thursdays  It was worth it. Asian Zing is the way to go. I’m not just saying that because I’m Asian either.

Tomorrow we only have to be on campus for 2 hours because our Sociology class got canceled because we have a test Monday. #winning. Also Monday is the Florence and the Machine CONCERT!!! I’m super excited because I’m really ready to go home for a tiny break from school and also because IT IS GOING TO BE MY FIRST CONCERT EXPERIENCE!!! AHHHHH!! I’m super excited!! And since my class on Tuesday got canceled (also because of an exam) I won’t have to worry about coming back to CoMo in a hurry. But that definitely means I’m going to be studying all weekend. Yaaaaaaaay…..

I saw this video before I was about to start this post… I’m sure you guys will enjoy it. What’s not to enjoy? Elmo, good. Zac Efron, AWESOME!

What happened to his YOLO tattoo though?!

Alright I’ve got to finish my biology homework.
Peace out, broskis!

Megan

PS. If you guys haven’t checked out Mumford & Sons new album, you definitely should. It’s sooooo good!

Women Troubles.

25 Sep

Friday night we decided to go to the Women’s Soccer game. They were giving out free shirts to the first 500 fans, regretfully we were not one of those fans. We stayed for the entire game and they beat Ole Miss 2-1! While we were headed back to the car we saw Michael Dixon, it was pretty cool. After that we went to an event they were having in Memorial Student Union. Basically they had free food and crafts. We ended up making Modge-Podge coasters and melty crayon art.

Saturday Guano and me went to walk around downtown because there was a Roots and Blues festival going on. Tickets were too expensive, but they had some stuff around the festival and a free stage where we saw a couple guys perform, one of which was only wearing overalls with no shirt. Then we went on the search to find the only Quick trip in Columbia. To our surprise the drinks are 79 cents all the time there! Next we went to Walmart because Guano needed some necessities like cough medicine. Well, I was just looking at the nail polish, minding my own business, and a guy came up to me and asks, “Can I ask you a question?” He looked a little uneasy, so I was thinking, oh god this guy better not be asking me for money. Well here’s the rest of the dialogue:

Guy: “My eleven year old daughter just started her period, could you tell me what I should get for her, she’s pretty small.”

Me: “Yeah sure.” Then I proceed to show him which pads he should get. “I think these would probably be best for her.” Then I go down the aisle a little bit and ask, “Now, what about tampons?”

Guy: “I don’t really want her using those” (probs because he was not about to show her how to shove them up her hoo-ha and I was not about to argue with him.)

Me: “Alright, well I think these are going to your best bet” while pointing to said pads.

Guy: “Thank you.”

Me: “No problem.” I proceed to walk away.

I later saw the guy walking by and smiled at him. I feel like I did my good deed for the day lol.

I bought this sweatshirt at the Thrift store and got some fabric and sewed a pocket on it. I didn’t have any pins so it was not an easy task, but I think it looks pretty dope.

Currently I’m reading “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” so I can go watch the movie. I haven’t gotten very far yet, but it’s a little weird. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Keep it Classy.

Nocturnal.

24 Apr

The last few weeks have been super super busy for me. The week before last was initiation week for my sorority so we had things almost every night. We had history night, family night, sister share night and then initiation on Friday where we did secret sorority things. It’s a secret, you wouldn’t understand (that is an office reference for those of you who are fans). Then that Saturday I worked 7:00am-12:00 with Kelsey at the marina (I think one of the only people that doesn’t consume copious amounts of alcohol and smoke weed). Then that evening we had our Crown Formal which was nautical themed. I didn’t bring a date because all the guys here are royal douches. It was a lot of fun and we basically just danced the entire time because well it was a dance (if you were wondering yes, I am still a terrible dancer. There are some things College just can’t change). Then that Sunday we played a soccer game against Benedictine, my coaches twin brother’s team. I seriously wish I had taken a picture of them both standing on the sideline because it was hilarious because they are basically the same person.

Last Wednesday we had this thing called Jewellstock and it was AWESOME! There was copious amounts of food and cotton candy. They had a ton of inflatables, which I love and big wheeled tricycles. I just wish it was Jewellstock every day. Then Friday was Colloquium day and I had to go see a couple presentations so I went to a music one (Zac was in) and I went to one on homelessness in schools. If I didn’t have to do this for class I probably wouldn’t have, but it was good. Also Friday after practice we had to help with a Fundraiser which consisted of us basically sitting on a bench and watching people hit golf balls for 3 and a half hours. I hit a golf ball for the first time in my life and let me tell you I’m no Tiger Woods (because I suck and I didn’t have multiple affairs). I was supposed to get two people to come, but lets get real, I live in Independence, I don’t know anyone who golfs. The only person who would have gone was Tristan, but he had a track meet.

Saturday I went to my Sorority moms wedding and got some yummy cake and punch afterwards. It was very pretty and she looked beautiful. Then afterwards I went thrifting with Megan and Mary Ann. I found this awesome retro green fondue pot, a Patagonia wind breaker (thanks to guans), and a mirror with a cool frame which I plan to pinterest the shit out of (yes pinterest can be used as a verb). Then at 3:30 we had to meet at the maybee center to leave for our games in Iowa on Sunday. Let me tell you how cheap our school is, we took one 15 passenger van (I was on this with 14 other people and our stuff), one of the girls SUV that held 5 people and then our goalie coach drove separately, the ride was just such a joy. We went to one of our player’s houses that lives in Iowa and her family made dinner for us. It was so delicious, it was lasagna, baked ziti, fruit, veggies, olive garden breadsticks and salad, and tons of delicious deserts. I ate so much food. It was the bomb. Then we hung out there for a while. We watched Jefferson play guitar hero which was hilarious. First of all he doesn’t ever cuss so when he messed up he would yell “Bleep it”. Then he also was doing herkies (cheerleader things I don’t know how to spell it) while he was playing. On our way to our hotel we got separated from Jefferson who was driving the SUV because he’s kind of a maniac driver and Howard took an off ramp going way to fast and we seriously thought the van was going to tip (just imagine 14 girls screaming at the same time). When we finally got to the hotel it was really sketchy, there were atleast 20 people outside smoking and several sketchy people inside in the lobby. Usually there are 4 of us to a room, but since only 18 of us went it was only Stephanie and I in our room. When we walk in our room the sheets are messed up like someone had slept there and I guess I had a really nervous look on my face because I scared Steph and we practically ran out of there (thoughts of scary movies were running through my mind, like someone hiding in the shower). The coaches room was the same way, I guess they double booked the rooms so they started to look for a new hotel. We waited in the lobby while everyone else was in their rooms, besides the coaches. These are the group texts Jefferson sent out: “Evacuation plans are being considered… Standby”, “Move out!!”, “2 minutes to evacuate! Save yourself and your teammates”, and “THIS IS NOT A DRILL!”. It was quite comical, but we ended up getting to stay in a Holiday Inn (that never happens) and we had a really good breakfast. Sunday we played Drake and we beat them 1-0 and we played Winona State and we lost 3-0, but our goalie was out so that played a factor in the second game. My mom, Kellan, Tristan, and Babs came to the game so I went home with them so I didn’t have to ride in the van and we walked around campus for a while because Tristan is thinking about going there.

I pulled my second legit all nighter Sunday night, studied all night for anatomy and then went strait to class at 7:45am. My end of the school year checklist still has way too many things on it, but I’m working on it.

May the odds ever be in your favor during finals week. I want to go Katniss Everdeen on my anatomy final, but I will probably end up more like rue, being ravaged by it.

Keep it Classy!

P.S. It’s almost summer! I can’t wait!!!

P.P.S. Sorry this is so long. Listen to Mountain Sound by Of Monsters and Men. It is awesome.

not caring about school anymore because there is only 1 month left

11 Apr

Today is the first day in a while where I don’t know what to write about, but I will try to think of something.

I always do. Thursday at 3 I left to go home for Easter, which was cool. Friday morning I had an interview for a summer job at UpDog; it was super chill and the guy who interviewed me didn’t write my answers down or anything, we just had a conversation. I think I’ll get the job.

Friday I also found out I did get selected out of like 60 people to be an ambassador, I think I wrote about that in my last post but I pretty much knew I’d get it. Friday I went to church at 3 and we dyed Easter eggs that night. I had a video assignment due Tuesday, which I had not started on, hence I had to film at home. I used my dad’s video camera, but alas, I FORGOT MY FREAKING TRIPOD HEFOWAFNMKS;NVSDZK;NVD. What a pain in the ass. I had to conduct interviews by sitting my family down at the kitchen table and putting the camera on a peanut butter jar in order to achieve proper framing.

Saturday I did my photography assignment at Carrie’s soccer game, and that was fun because I hadn’t been to one of her games since last season (fall). Moritz told her to score a goal for him before the game (she never scores goals) and lo and behold… she did! I also made mini Easter cheesecakes that I found on pinterest, and they had devil coconut on it. But I don’t mind coconut. Then we went from church from 8-10pm, and I’m almost 100% sure that I was the last one to blow out my candle when they told us to. (I kept letting mine stay lit for like 5 extra minutes.)

Sunday was Easter, Carrie woke me up too early at 8:00 am, and I went downstairs to my awesome Easter basket, including about 30,000 calories worth of chocolate. I still have this weird thing going on where I never have much of an appetite, so I didn’t eat a lot of it yet, and I left it at home when I came back to school. Who IS this person that I’m turning into?! My dad had been saying that there would be no “Amazing Race/Easter Egg Hunt” this year (Morgan, you can understand what I’m talking about) but we ended up having one anyway, he tricked us 🙂 It was a little shorter though, but it was still a lot of fun, and included but was not limited to: filling a sock up with lima beans in a relay race, sitting on a bench in a small cemetery, going to an arcade, giving cookies to firemen, and “destroying the Horcruxes” by using a slingshot to shoot marbles at 6 plates with pictures of Voldemort, Lucius Malfoy, Draco Malfoy, Professor Umbridge, Bellatrix Lestrange, and Dementors taped to them. I broke Voldemort.

Sunday night I decided I didn’t feel like driving back to school, so I played hooky on Monday! (My first time for these classes, but they are MWF at 9, 10, and 11 so I couldn’t really get back in time in the morning.) I did my Spanish homework that was due and emailed it to him. I woke up around 8:30 and left at 10:30. Got back at 1:30, skyped briefly (because Moritz is in Spain Tuesday-Thursday), and then proceeded to the Mac Lab to work on my video project.

What I was not anticipating was the fact that I had to transfer 20+ video clips to the Mac computer via MY 8GIG MEMORY CARD. That was annoying. I had to do it because a portable hard drive can’t be compatible with a mac and pc simultaneously. THEN I had to convert all the files to be able to be seen on Final Cut Pro, THEN they didn’t have sound so I had to convert them again. This took about 2 hours. By the time the video was done, I had spent a total of SEVEN CONSECUTIVE HOURS on this dang assignment. However, time went fast due to the high level of fun I was having.
Here’s the final product:

(hope you guys can see it)

Tonight we’re having an event called Sex on Campus, where the human sexuality teacher answers people’s anonymous questions. I signed up to “chalk” for the event, meaning write information on the ground outside around campus. I incidentally made a trail of sperm that lead to the building in which the event is held. Clever, I know.

I’m tired of typing, you’re probably tired of reading, see you on the flip side.

Weekly update time!

Now normally, I would type up a day-by-day recall of my week: but this week has been most uneventful. Seriously. I didn’t go to many classes because I have not been feeling well and could not get good sleep when my eyes finally would close. I think this was caused by my stressed out Sunday.. I spent most of my Sunday worrying about sharing my story/testimony with my Bible study group and then it didn’t go as well as I had hoped so I was bummed then just became restless I suppose.

The stuff that actually was cool I will tell you about here > So Friday I went to see a musical put on by my school called Ragtime. It was a great production, and now more than ever I want to play Glinda the Good Witch in Wicked on Broadway. Saturday I missed brunch (this is very sad because they had bacon) but I did go to the senior night for our girl’s basketball team. We won and now the girls are in second seed in the Big Sky conference post-season tournament. Wish our boys were better. Saturday night, Kendal and I went to church and heard a great message about Rest in God, kind of just what I needed to hear. Then Sunday= Game Day! I have been a little nervous about the abilities of our team, but we started the season with a win! Well, really the other team didn’t show up until I had already signed the paper saying they forfeited and we won… but we scrimmaged them anyways and I’m pretty sure we either won or tied. They seemed pretty put together too… and their goalie was wearing awesome sunglasses the whole time which just made everything better. And now Megan, Holly, Tori, and I are going to Fort Collins for a pizza dinner at Beau Jo’s.

Looking forward too: Spring Break! Starts on Friday!! Also, I’m road tripping with Kelsey to Springfield to see Cathy! We are going to Lambert’s and I am pumped. Ooh ooh I’m starting my Ropes Course class on Monday! So exciting and nerve- wrecking at the same time. Can’t wait to be home though.

Random schmamdom: I made a bookmark out of pressed flowers from Valentines Day and I think it’s pretty neat. Also, March Madness starts so soon that I can hardly stand it another minute! March is the best only because it is filled with the sounds of whistles blowing, buzzers screaming, basketballs being dunked, screaming fans, crying fans, and upsets that will either make or break your ENTIRE bracket. (Like last year when Kansas lost in like round two and I had them winning it all in one bracket- never again my friends, never again!) I am super ultra sore again. This time it’s from kickboxing class.

Arm Muscles.

28 Feb

Ya I have them. Who wants to arm wrestle?

My arms are in pain right now as I type this, due to a little thing called “push up Thursday” and today which didn’t have a nice name, I just refer to it as “Holly shit that sucked.”

Homework, Soccer, Zeta stuff, and working have taken over my life. I never seem to have time to relax. Most nights I stay up past 2:00am doing homework and then go to class at 7:45am (well when I actually go). This semester might be the death of me.

This week is “Mom Dot week” and what that means is that I get presents! Sunday night I got strawberry stuff, last night I got tons of bunnies, and I’m not sure what I will get tonight!

Last week I made a video for the blog, but I couldn’t post it so that was unfortunate.

I have to go shower and have places to go. Sorry, that this blog post is so boring, I just don’t have time to zest (not the same as zesty, Derek) it up.

Keep it Classy.

P.S. Morgan has the Marina guy emailed you back yet?

Zac Efron > everything

22 Feb

(Let me preface by saying that the correct title of this post is “Zac Efron > everything” but thanks to this weird ass font, this was not achieved.)

Hello everyone. Once again, it seems that I have survived the week all the way until Wednesday.

Not too much has been going on with me. Last weekend I went home, so that was pretty nice. You know how today is the beginning of Lent? And yesterday was “Fat Tuesday”… well let’s just say my family and I celebrated Fat Tuesday all weekend. And it was good. So good. Doritos, ice cream, Chinese buffet, chocolate Chex Mix, gummy bears, popcorn, cereal (and other deliciousness) were at my disposal, and I’ll also say that I consumed them in a way similar to a garbage disposal. But me and my mom decided to start Weight Watchers for Lent so we can go shopping for skinny clothes later on in the spring.

On Friday my mom got me an eye appointment to find out what was wrong and why I was having pain in my eye. The eye doctor flipped my eyelids inside out and said the problem was that I am having a severe allergic reaction to an unknown factor. Hmm, severe allergic reactions to unknown factors seem to be something I am very good at. Anyway, he said my eyelids were supposed to be smooth inside but instead they were bumpy because all the lymph nodes are swollen and that’s making them feel like sandpaper on my eyes. He made a video of my eyes somehow and I watched it and it was kind of gross. But he gave me some eye drops that really burn and I have to take them 4x a day for 45 days.

For my video class, I had another project that was due tomorrow, so I got Steven and asked him if he would help me by being a hipster again. He did not let the fact that we haven’t seen each other since graduation inhibit him. I edited it on Sunday when I got back to school and the only thing that sucks is that the wind is kind of loud for some of it, but it’s mostly alright. Then yesterday my teacher said the project wasn’t due until next Tuesday so oh well I guess.

Moritz and I are still trucking away at this whole college in America thing. He emailed Straub and asked him if he had any advice about getting recruited by a college to play soccer, and whether he thought he had a good chance of being able to play or not. Straub said yes and he even volunteered to contact the schools for him. It REALLY BLOWS because this week Moritz is at this tennis coaching seminar in Stuttgart, and he thought he would come home every day at the end (it’s about 30 min away) but when he showed up on the first day he found out he could just stay there the whole week. So he doesn’t have anything with him, like his homework or laptop or anything, and he only has 2 shirts. He said he’ll get by but I couldn’t do it. Gender differences I suppose. But anyway now he can’t work on any of his stuff he needs to finish. Yesterday I emailed all the schools he’s applying to, to ask them what materials they have received from him so far, and the ones we’ve heard back from haven’t received his TOEFL (Test Of English as a Foreign Language), which he took in December and should have sent like the ACT, automatically. And one didn’t receive his SAT which was also taken in December. Shit. So he can’t check his accounts until Friday. And they haven’t gotten his transcripts which his school secretary allegedly mailed about 2 weeks ago, and his dad mailed the bank statements about one week ago. So now I’m worried these are lost in the mail and they will never get there and apocalypse.

Sorry for rambling about that but I just have so many thoughts and it’s nice to have somewhere to say them.

Final order of business, I can’t believe that bitch Ben from the Bachelor got rid of Kacie B. As my mom said over the weekend, “He’s just a big stupid. He can never compare to how hot Zac Efron is. Never.”

Life after the X Games

1 Feb

I was busy driving back from Colorado Monday and I was busy sleeping Tuesday so I am posting today.

2012 Winter X Games

So this last weekend was the 2012 Winter X Games which were freaking ZESTY. I have already decided I am at the least going to go to the next 9 Winter X Games to make it 10 Straight. Even if 9 Years from now I end up being one of those people we may of (We 100% did) bad mouth for bringing a baby or small child to the X Games (I Really really Really hope that isn’t me), though I now understand that you gotta do what you gotta do, no matter what to go. First off me and Cody went Skiing and Snowboarding on the way to the X Games at Loveland Ski area, located at 10 thousand feet. We were a little out of breath and dizzy the entire time from being so high up, but it was totally worth it, we hit every trail no matter how hard or how stupidly dangerous it was. I really wanted to and still do want to drop out of college and go work there all winter every winter FOREVER!

Normal Life

Indoor soccer with the club soccer team started up last week and I am constantly sore and dead tired from it. I have been back from Colorado for 2 days and I have already went through 7 cans of Red Bull I will admit it I have a problem I am addicted to Red Bull, but I quit drinking pop so its all good and healthy. I also have a really bad habit of falling asleep in class, so that’s where Red Bull come in handy. I am also doing something this semester that I have never done in my life, which is study for a test more then a day in advanced. I am studying for test I don’t have for weeks, sorry if that’s just a norm for you guys but I am proud of my self for it.

This Picture  is supposed to be a Lazy College Senior but it applies to me, so I guess I have all ready matured to the level of a college senior, Right?

Life After the X Games sucks!
Peace to your Double Corks, Love to you Backside Rodeos, and Happiness to perfect 100’s
