TWO DAYS, PEOPLE. TWO DAYS.

20 Nov

TWO DAYS!! I’M SO EXCITED!! I’m excited to see double decker buses, hear actual British accents in their environment, eat fish&chips, go to Hogwarts, ride the tube, be reunited with Cathy, and for everything else!! If I see any famous British celebrities, I will probably die of happiness. But hopefully I get a picture with them first.

This past weekend was a hit and miss. I was very excited to hang out with my friends before we leave the states, and for the most part it was great and I had a great time! But every party has a pooper, and we didn’t realize it until after it was over. I have never been more grateful for my friends that are always there for me (even when some are not physically near me!). Special shout out to 2 specific bros. I’m so sorry for putting you guys in that situation. I cannot imagine how horrific those hours must have been. :/

I spent the next few days going through phases of frustration, disappointment, depression, denial, and rage. Sunday night, with some convincing from Emily, I spent 2 hours writing letter calling him out before bed. Monday I went through a spell of complete rage and had to get out of Columbia. I sped down to Jeff City with the windows down and Lorde’s album blaring through the stereo. It was a nice day so I decided to walk around the area for a bit. When I got back, I spent another 2ish hours revising the letter. Then I spent an hour trying to convince myself that the best thing to do was to push send. Eventually I did. It felt so good to tell someone how I really felt instead of bottling it up and letting it eventually eat me alive, which is what I normally do. Please just be honest and don’t be a total douche, that’s all I ask. I feel like I’m doing better now, but still a little hurt.

Sunday was the last time I got to work in the deli at HV. The reason I got to work there in the first place was because they were in the process of getting a new manager (who makes the schedule for the department) so the HR manager was in charge of scheduling. She also makes the cashier/courtesy schedules too, so she was able to get me in on a few shifts. But since they have a manager now, I probably won’t be scheduled anymore. Anyway, I used the slicer so many times, and all by myself! I’m pretty much a pro now. Also I got to work with Goron. His family is from Serbia (meaning he’s a fan of Djokovic, better than Nadal I say) but pretty sure he’s 100% American. He reminds me of Nathan from the marina. Their personalities are the same, meaning they both like beer, like to party, are semi-racist/sexist, and always make fun of me for being Asian/short/”sucking at my job”/etc., and he’s a pretty funny guy. I’m going to miss the deli.

Today I worked at HV again. The worst part of today was having to get carts… IN THE RAIN. Plus it was freezing and I could see my breath. It was not cool. Also the dining room was short of bussers, so I spent 2 hours bussing tables. That was interesting. And I ate lunch with my cousin, J, since we both happened to take our breaks at the same time. It was nice to catch up, even though it was a bit querd. LOL. I work again tomorrow, but I’m not sure if I would have time to blog since we’re going home after I get off work, thus me blogging today. Then Friday, we’ll be going to the airport… TO GO TO LONDON. WHAT!!?!! Can’t believe pretty much here! Dang… that means I have to pack.

Peace out, girl scouts.

PS. Sorry for this extremely long post. I guess I had more to say than I thought! Props if you made it to the end! 🙂

Slumpin

5 Sep

Hi. It’s been an exceptionally unexceptional week.

I don’t remember anything about last week until Friday when I went home after my last class. It was raining, and I had to drive home in the rain. Most intense driving of my life. I got there around 4:30 and Becky got home around 7:30 because she got a ride from some people who went to Truman. After she got home our family immediately went to Hy-Vee because they were having a sale – one pint of Blue Bell ice cream for $1. That was awesome, we bought ten and also a lot of other snacks.

Saturday I worked at Up Dog. I worked with McKay and he wasn’t as annoying as I thought he would be and also I kind of made him my bitch and he did everything I told him to. It was weird because there are only about 3 people left who were there when I started working there in May, so I didn’t know everyone but basically I made everyone my bitches. Someone had made us a Santacaligon Bingo that included things like “Mullet” “Beer Belly” “Socks and Sandals” “Food-Stained Shirt” and “Kid on a leash.” It was awesome how it was raining because not that many people came in and I got to go home at 6 instead of 8. Then my family went to Walmart to buy some things me and Becky needed. I got an orange skillet and some silverware.

Sunday morning we went to church at 8 (yikes) because we wanted/needed to go to IHOP. We always go for my parents’ anniversary which was about 2 weeks ago but it was our first chance to go since me and Becky were at school. We usually go to the one by Outback Steakhouse but this time we went to the one near ghetto Walmart. We better start going to this one every year because we didn’t have any wait at all and by the time we got home it was only like 10:15, which was what time I would be waking up to go to church normally!

My grandparents came over around 1 and then I took a nap on the floor from like 2-3 because getting up at 7am is a hard task. We ate a bunch of food once my other grandma got here. Then around 5 we went to Santacaligon to see Cassie sing, and we thought she’d sing until 6, but when we got there at 5:20 she was almost done. Then we filled our root beer bottles and went home, it was too dang hot.

I came back to school on Monday, I got here around 8pm and Caitlin and I tried to get dinner on campus but it was closed so we went downtown and I lost my Jimmy John’s virginity.

Back to school, ughhh. I have a paper about Climate Change (wtf) due tomorrow, and this reaction paper en espanol. I think I am getting sophomore slump.

P.S. I just remembered that I have a job interview Friday. I keep forgetting about it. It’s for the Greene County Park Board, they have a ton of family activity centers and things like that, I think the position I am interviewing for is like a desk person. Huzzah.

No loyalty

21 Mar

Hey everybody, guess what? Spring break. That’s what I have right now.

It was much needed.

I made it through Thursday and Friday last week, and headed home around 11:15 am on Friday, getting home at about 2:15. On Friday night we went to a fish fry at St. Ann’s because we hadn’t gone to one in about 4 years so we went.

Saturday I slept until 11:30 which was glorious and then had St. Patrick’s Day lunch of corned beef and cabbage. Then my family went to the parade on the square which wasn’t really worth it because it only lasted 15 minutes but it was too nice outside to not go. We went to church at 5 on Saturday and then had dinner, and watched Super 8 on demand.

Sunday I slept some more. My dad had to go to work all day so my mom asked us if we wanted to go to the zoo. The last time we went to the zoo was during the summer of 2010 with Moritz and it cost the 5 of us like $75, but this time they had some thing where if you live in Jackson county it’s only like $5 each so it was only $20. We saw the polar bear, he was so cool. I have a photography assignment over landscapes to shoot over break but mostly I just took pictures of animals, sue me.

You can probably guess this but I slept until 10:45 on Monday. I apologize for highlighting what time I woke up every day but it’s just such an important thing that I can’t leave it out. I went to Hy-Vee and…. asked if I can have my job back for the summer. They said of course. I don’t really want to be a cashier again but I can do it for 2 months and I need the money, especially if I ever plan to pay my parents back for a certain $800 plane ticket… Then I went to the square and applied at Clinton’s and UpDog because if I could get another job that would be flipping sweet. I figured those might be places that would possibly be hiring for the summer since it gets kind of touristy over here. I wanted to apply at Yogurtini too but they said it was online. Moritz is coming on July 6 and I’m gonna need something to pass the time from May 9 when I get out of school until then.

Yesterday I seriously didn’t do anything. I woke up during the hour of 9:00 (wtf) and I watched tv shows on demand. Mostly it was Dance Moms. I have a strange addiction to that show, which is weird because I’ve never danced a day in my life. But that dance teacher is so dramatic. She kind of reminds me of Ms. Thompson but Ms. Thompson is much nicer. Also I watched Four Weddings. But the weather is so crappy that there’s nothing else to do. Kelvin asked if he could come get his movie while I’m home (he left a movie called Fantastic Mr. Fox in Springfield when he came to visit Graham. I never want to watch that movie, it looks effing creepy. But I brought it home with me during October in case he needed to get it from my family anytime. Well now I don’t know where it is and he wants it back so I kept telling him “come tomorrow” every day and “tomorrow” suddenly turned into yesterday.)

Today I went to Kohl’s and Marshall’s with my mom to buy some sandals. Then we went to Cherry Berry because it’s right there on 39th St. Cherry Berry is just like Yogurtini, Yogurtopia, Peach Wave, Orange Leaf, etc… only with a different color scheme (red and green). So apparently I have no loyalty to these places because I just get yogurt wherever it’s convenient. One thing I will say about Cherry Berry is that their yogurt did not melt one single bit during the time I was eating it.

Guess which one's mine?

Moritz had 3 of his 4 big tests this week, and his last one is on Monday! YAY!!!!

In other news, my mom told me she had a message on the answering machine that there were shots fired in Chrisman’s parking lot last night. Classy Chrisman. Why are you so classy?
