Sophisticating my Palate.

30 Oct

I am currently eating my favorite chocolate cake ice cream, drinking coke zero and watching Gilmore Girls. Today was my day off so I studied quite a bit, but I still feel like I didn’t get very much done. I have two tests next week so I have some work to do!

Sunday was my last day working at Lake Jacomo Marina… probably ever. It was a little bittersweet because while sometimes I hated it most of the time it was actually pretty alright and working with Megan and Derek for two summers was pretty cool 🙂

This Friday I worked from 12-5pm and had an indoor soccer game which we lost 13-0. After that I went over to the house Gentry and I were dog/house sitting at (Bailey’s house btw that’s the dogs name). I have a real talent for making myself at home at other peoples houses. Then Saturday I worked from 9-5pm and that night we went over to Meguan’s house to plan for our London trip and watched SNL because that is now a 5-week tradition. It seems the only thing we have actually accomplished is booking a hostel in London. Then Sunday I worked from 7-3pm and at 5pm I went over to my Grandma’s house. I like Sunday evenings because my whole family gets together and we have dinner at my Grandma’s house. This week I ate brussel sprouts in an attempt to sophisticate my palate haha.

This weekend I plan on coming home Friday to play in two indoor soccer games and then drive back Saturday so I can go to the Mizzou football game!

Keep it Classy.

P.S. It was a real struggle making myself write this post due to my laziness.

P.P.S. The Olympic countdown is also my birthday countdown! Yay! 100 days!

This week is the first week that actually feels like fall, so thus began my annual watching of all seven seasons of Gilmore Girls. It’s just something about fall that makes me want to watch Gilmore Girls, maybe it’s that the show is supposed to take place in Connecticut and that it always seems to be fall or winter during the show.

Here is a thing on Buzzfeed about Gilmore Girls you should look at… sorry I am obsessed. I have a lot of favorite TV shows, but Gilmore Girls is my all time favorite TV series.

I guess I haven’t blogged in a while… oops. I have a hard time making myself bog because it feels a bit like an assignment for school and I really don’t need any more of those. I have a physiology test tomorrow morning and a Medical terminology test on Thursday so I really need to be spending time working on those. Also I have a 15 minute presentation on Monday that my group hasn’t even started yet. Group work is seriously the WORST. I mean we are all juniors and seniors with insanely busy schedules and jobs… how the hell are we supposed to find a time when all 5 of us can meet.

A couple weeks ago I filled out my paperwork basically telling the university that I will be ready to graduate in December 2014. This really has me thinking about what I will do after graduation and I am lost. It’s not that I lack ambition; it’s just that I don’t know how or where to direct my ambition. If I thought that physical therapy was undoubtedly the career path for me I would gladly spend three years accomplishing that goal, but with my uncertainty three years is a lot to potentially waste. So, maybe I’ll take some time after graduation and try some new things, see some new places, and try to figure out if that’s what I want to do. I have a map on my wall and there all too many places I have not seen and my goal is to change that one country at a time. I’m learning that a career is not what makes you, it’s the experiences that you have accumulated that shape you as a person.

Even though I am constantly busy, stressed most of the time, and have no clue what I want to do with my life I am actually very content with where I am at right now.

Keep it Classy.

P.S. Guys it’s almost time for sweaters YAY!

P.P.S. I have decided that I hate all of my clothes and will be wearing leggings and t-shirts for the rest of my life… Ok not my whole life… this is probably just a phase.

P.P.P.S. I got 4 new bottles of OPI nail polish so I’m also pretty excited about that.

Ron Swanson.

I officially changed my major yesterday; it is now Health Sciences with Pre-Physical Therapy. I feel a lot better after I went and talked to my new advisor, I figured what credits would count and which credits I still need to get. I am planning on apply for early admission in to the Physical Therapy program next fall, but I’ve got some work to do to get there. 200 people apply and only 30 people get in and the average gpa is 3.8-3.9, so I’m a wee bit nervous. I also have to get at least 40 shadowing hours, which won’t be a problem because my mom has a ton of connections. That also means that my plans for this summer are now taking algebra and physics 2 in summer school, working at the marina, and job shadowing.

This Friday Imagine Dragons is putting on a free concert for Mizzou’s Homecoming so I’m pretty stoked for that and then I’m going home early Saturday morning to watch Tristan run in his sectional race. I already told my mom I would like to have chicken parmesan and an ice cream bar from Costco when I come home.

Keep it Classy.

P.S. Ron Swanson from Parks and Rec is in several episodes of Gilmore Girls as Jackson’s Brother Bo, if you were wondering, yes even back then he had his awesome mustache. Also I just read Nick Offerman’s Wiki page and I have even more respect for that man then I did before.

Noodle Guy.

My life right now consists of watching Gilmore Girls, going to the rec center and studying (in order of importance of course.

Last Friday was Lei’s birthday and she was at her grandparent’s for fall break so we got to hang out with her. We went to Noodles and Company to eat and I just want to share with you all the awkwardness that occurred.

Let me set the scene: Megan and Me are eating our penne rosa and Lei has not received her food that she had been waiting quite some time for. Lei asked for water, but got soda (this will be of importance later.)

Lei: Wanders up front to see if they forgot about her order.

Noodle Guy: Says she has been waiting for a long time so they are going to give her money back. He then comes to the table to get her credit card.

“So you had the small chicken noodle soup and a drink?”

Lei: “Well, I just had the chicken noodle.

Noodle Guy: Looks at her a little confused.

Lei: “I actually got water.”

Noodle Guy: (realizes what’s going on) “Oh ok, I didn’t see this” (walks away with a smirk on his face.)

Lei: “My life is just a series of awkward events.”

You really had to be there for the full effect, but it was hilarious.

I’ve got nothing else.

Keep it classy.

P.S. My passport arrived at my house yesterday! 🙂

Fall Means Gilmore Girls.

9 Oct

At the beginning of fall every year I start to watch all seven seasons of Gilmore Girls. It just always seems to be fall or winter in the episodes so it’s the perfect time to watch them. I am currently on season 2 and Jess has just moved in with Luke, I’m team Jess because Dean is kind of an idiot and Logan is a total douche. (If your not too familiar with Gilmore Girls Jess, Dean and Logan are Rory’s various Boyfriends)

Friday afternoon Lauren, one of our good friends from Jewell, came to visit us. We gave her a tour of campus and took her to the bookstore. We walked downtown and got some ice cream from Sparky’s and went to the Alpine Shop (my favorite store downtown.) When we were giving her a tour of the rec center we saw Nick playing volleyball (only the second time we’ve seen him all semester). After that we went to Target, ate dinner, and then went back to the townhome and watched the Lucky One (Love Zach Efron).

We’ve been using the Rec center a lot lately and I never thought I would say this, but I have actually enjoyed working out and look forward to going. Its weird when someone isn’t forcing me to practice or run how much more enjoyable it is.

Lei’s fall break is at the end of the week so Shenanigans will soon ensue in Columbia. I don’t really have anything notable to say so here’s a picture of my nails I painted today lolz…
