Hello there My name is Derek.  I attended Northwest Missouri State University with the major of wildlife ecology and conservation for one year (2011-2012). While there I could never settle on one major because I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. At the end of my freshmen year I was burnt out on school and I had no desire to learn so I decided to take a year off.

  I spent this last winter working and living at Copper Mountain Ski Resort in Colorado, snowboarding 7 days a week and having non stop fun all day every day with some of the coolest people on earth. I spent most of my off days in backcountry snowboarding or chasing snow storms to different resorts. I have snowboarded off 50+ foot cliffs, out of avalanches,  hit 70 miles an hour on my board, and been to every ski area in Colorado. My winter there ended a month early in march when I tore my medial meniscus snowboarding, I have also had more dislocated shoulders then I can count along with 4 surgeries for various broken bones and torn ligaments,

 I am now back from Colorado and attending Community college for a year before going to a big 4 year school. My current job is at a marina where I work as a dockhand parking, driving, and renting boats while spending all day on the lake. I spend all of my free time outside doing various action sports: mountain biking, snowboarding, kayaking, rock climbing, hiking, wake boarding, cliff jumping, longboarding,  skateboarding, slacklining and anything else that would be considered Gnarly, Steezy, or Zesty.
